Sustainable Critical Minerals in Far North Queensland

COOE participates in AusIMM Sustainable Critical Minerals in Far North Queensland event

COOE General Manager, Kate Grundy, had the honour of representing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and environmental matters on a panel discussion around Sustainable Critical Minerals in the Far North Queensland Region, along with other panelists Kate Dickson (AMEC) representing explorers, Michael Hagen (EDMS) representing advanced manufacturing, Mike Limpus (TMG) representing mining operators, and Senator The Hon Matthew Canavan.

The AusIMM event, hosted in Cairns by the Far North Queensland Branch and chaired by Dr. Geraldine McGuire, provided an opportunity for local mining professionals to discuss the opportunities and challenges of developing the sustainable critical minerals industry in our region with guest speaker Senator Canavan and other members of the AusIMM Far North Queensland Branch. The event highlighted the importance of critical minerals in international trade and the strong connection between AusIMM and Government.
